Netflix original series “My Name is Loh Kiwan” starring Song Joong Ki confirmed to premiere next month

The much anticipated Netflix original movie starring Song Joong Ki, “My Name is Loh Kiwan” has officially confirmed its premiere date. Netflix released the video teaser of the upcoming film. Through the video, it was also confirmed that “My Name is Loh Kiwan” will be released on March 1 on Netflix and it will be available worldwide.

“My Name is Loh Kiwan” will depict the journey of a North Korean defector named Loh Kiwan who took his last chance and went to Belgium. There, he will meet, love, and break up with a woman named Marie, who does not have a reason to live. The movie will be depicted from the novel of the same name by Jo Hae Jin. 

Song Joong Ki will be working with  Choi Sung Eun, Jo Han Chul, Kim Sung Ryung, Lee Il Hwa, Lee Sang Hee, and Seo Hyun Woo in the upcoming movie. 

The upcoming film will be the debut work of director Kim Hee Jin.

In the released video teaser, Loh Kiwan landed nervously in Belgium alone. The lonely reality becomes evident to him as he faces the unfamiliarity of the place as well as the cold weather and hunger. 

While trying to prove his status as a refugee, his memories of North Korea were shown. He was then told that they could not confirm yet that Loh Kiwan is really from North Korea. This made him fall and lose hope. 

One day, he meets Marie, a person who does not have any will to live. 

In the last seconds of the teaser, Loh Kiwan portrayed by Song Joong Ki uttered, “

I've reached this point by making a commitment to endure and conquer any challenges or hardships I face in this place. My name is Loh Kiwan.”
