Starting next month, over 300 street vendors will now be accepting card payments. In previous years, if you want to try street food or buy stuff from the vendors in Myeongdong, you always have to carry cash. This time, over 300 vendors will now accept card payments. According to reports, the vendors that will accept cards will have signages in Chinese, Japanese, and English.

Aside from providing ease to customers, the district office decided to implement the card payment so that vendors won’t be able to deceive customers by stating different prices. They will also monitor the pricing of the common street foods such as fishcake, fish-shaped bread, grilled squid, and more. They will also monitor the food handling of the vendors for sanitary purposes.
