Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won’s K-drama “Queen of Tears” breaks tvN’s history

The currently trending K-drama “Queen of Tears” becomes the third-highest rating in tvN drama history. 

“Queen of Tears” is a romantic comedy series that showcases the romance, struggles, crisis, and more of a conglomerate heiress and her legal director husband.

The K-drama is led by Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won, Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, Lee Joo Bin, and more. 

“Queen of Tears” is the current work of directors Kim Hee Won (“Vincenzo”), Jang Young Woo, and writer  Park Ji Eun (“Crash Landing on You”).

After episode 10 of “Queen of Tears” aired, the tvN K-drama became the third-highest ratings in tvN history. The series garnered an average nationwide rating of 19.0 percent. Because of this, “Queen of Tears” became the most-watched Sunday show on tvN. 

It also surpassed the highest rating of the legendary K-drama “Reply 1988.” 

“Queen of Tears” becomes the third highest rating, following “Goblin” and “Crash Landing on You.”

The K-drama also secured its spot on the top 10 highest-rated K-drama on cable channels. 

“Queen of Tears” is one of the most trending K-dramas of 2024. The series has been dominating the Good Data Corporation’s weekly list of the most buzzworthy TV dramas for several weeks already. The main leads Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won, Park Sung Hoon, and more also topped the list of the most buzzworthy actors and actresses. 

The K-drama was highly anticipated even before it aired because of the star-studded cast and top directors and writers. After the series aired its first few episodes, “Queen of Tears” already proved that it was a high-class and worthy K-drama to watch. 

“Queen of Tears” has 6 more episodes left to air and many are already speculating that the series will surpass “Goblin” and “Crash Landing on You” as well as the other highest-rating K-dramas from other cable channels. 

The series is expected to be part of the top 3 highest-rated K-dramas on cable channels. 

“Queen of Tears” airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM KST. The K-drama can be watched through tvN and Netflix.
