K-Pop acts are once again recognized at the MTV Video Music Awards!

K-pop artists are again included in the winners list at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

On September 13 (KST), Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, BTS Jungkook, and BLACKPINK all got an award at the prestigious award-giving body 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards was held at Prudential Center in New Jersey. Many famous singers were present at the awards show such as Taylor Swift, Shakira, Selena Gomez, Cardi B, and many more. Meanwhile, Korean artists who performed in the show are Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

The two present K-pop boy groups participated in the red carpet and interviews. They also represented the K-pop genre by performing their latest songs.

Stray Kids gave their all and performed their latest track “S Class” from their third full-length album “★★★★★ (5-STAR).” Because of this song as well, Stray Kids got their first ever MTV Video Music Award which is the “Best K-pop.” This is also the group’s first time to perform at the prestigious show.

Another boy group that brought honor to K-pop this day is TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Just like Stray Kids, it was also TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s debut performance in the MTV Video Music Awards. The boy group showcased their collaboration track “Back For More” with Brazilian singer Anitta.

Aside from giving a spectacular performance on the award show, TOMORROW X TOGETHER also received the award for  PUSH Performance of the Year. They got this recognition because of their title track “Sugar Rush Ride” from their fifth mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION.” They are also the second K-pop group to win this award. Last year, their senior SEVENTEEN was given this recognition.

As expected, BTS was recognized even this year. Although it was not the whole group, member Jungkook proved to everyone that BTS music will always be recognized. Jungkook was not present at the awards show but he has won the Song of Summer for his solo song “SEVEN.”

Last, but definitely not least, is none other than the K-pop girl group of their time, BLACKPINK.

The four members were not present in the awards show but MTV Video Music Awards still gave what these girls deserve. BLACKPINK won not one but two awards for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. BLACKPINK was recognized as the Group of the Year. They also received the award for Best Choreography for their latest track “Pink Venom.”

Congratulations to Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Jungkook, and BLACKPINK as well as their fans from all over the world who dedicated much effort for their idols to be recognized!
