Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo are the next K-drama royalties to pair up

Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo will possibly work together in the upcoming K-drama that renowned writer Noh Hee Kyung will pen. 

According to various reports, Gong Yoo will be joining Song Hye Kyo in the new K-drama project of writer Noh Hee Kyung. Song Hye Kyo first received the offer to star in the upcoming K-drama and she is positively considering the offer. 

Gong Yoo’s side also gave their response to the circulating casting reports. According to Management Soop, “Yes it’s true that our artist Gong Yoo received the offer to star in a new K-drama written by scriptwriter Noh Hee Kyung. The actor is currently reviewing the offer and nothing has been confirmed yet.”

The upcoming K-drama will be a modern historical series focusing on the entertainment industry. It will tell the story of individuals who travel through time and discover the realities of South Korea's broadcast industry.

Writer Noh Hee Kyung is known for creating popular K-dramas such as “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Dear My Friends,” “Our Blues,” and more. This new K-drama will be her comeback project after almost two years. 

Meanwhile, the director who will handle the new K-drama will be none other than director Lee Yoon Jung who helmed the hit K-dramas “Coffee Prince,” “Cheese in the Trap,” and more.

If Gong Yoo joins the new series, this will be his reunion with director Lee Yoon Jung. The two worked together in the classic K-drama “Coffee Prince.” 

Before Gong Yoo becomes Song Hye Kyo’s leading man in a new K-drama, the actor will first return to the new season of “Squid Game.” 

Gong Yoo will also star in a new mystery romance K-drama titled “The Trunk.” He will be working with Seo Hyun Jin in the new Netflix series.
